~ Membership Information ~
As you may know, when you call 911 for a medical emergency, volunteers answer the call. Currently, we average approximately 1,500 EMS calls annually. This volume has increased greatly over the last few years. As our call volume has risen, we have found a need for more volunteers--however, we have not been as successful at boosting our memebership as we'd like and need.

If this pattern continues, we may have to face replacing our current volunteer system--to a paid system. This will subsequently mean a significant increase in the local taxes.

You, or members of your family can assist us in changing this situation by joining us or encouraging others to volunteer to help their neighbors.

A Moment of Joy! The Oakhurst First Aid Squad has delivered six babies during the past several years. This is a truly fulfilling part of volunteering!
We require that all volunteers become Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs). This training will be provided--FREE OF CHARGE to anyone who is interested in volunteering.

Current members are professionals, housewives, teachers, high-school students, retirees and blue-collar workers. After becoming EMT certified, you will be able to respond to calls for assistance and help neighbors who are in need. Of course, the greatest benefit of joining the Oakhurst First-Aid Squad is the satisfaction of helping a person who is truly in need. Other benefits include a FREE membership to the township pool, reduced rates on building permits and reduced rates at local gyms. With all of these to gain, why wouldn't you join us

We need new members so that we can continue to help our fellow residents as well as to continue to provide excellent emergency service to Ocean Township.
